Luke Robert Hemmings (born July 16, 1996) is the guitarist and lead vocalist of 5 Seconds of Summer, along with band members Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin. He and band members Michael Clifford and Calum Hood went to the same school, Norwest Christian College.
Musical Career
He started making covers of songs of various artists on YouTube under the account name "hemmo1996". The first video he uploaded on the site, posted on February 13, 2011, is a cover of "Please Don't Go" by Mike Posner. Later on, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood joined, thus forming the band "5 Seconds of Summer". Shortly afterward, on December 3, 2011, they added Ashton Irwin, completing the present four-man line up.
Luke does most of his song writing with Michael.
Personal Life
There are "rumours" that he wanted to date Selena Gomez. He, and the band created a rider each (which is a list of requests, demands, or extra items received from a promoter at a performance), and he put down; a fresh puppy, body oil, toothbrush's, Selena Gomez, my band, talent, socks, and a happy gorilla.
